YOUR KID’S DENTAL HEALTH IS OUR BUSINESS

August 27, 2021

Why Are Kids Afraid of Dental Appointments?
????????????‍⚕️
1. Fear of the Unknown
2. The Sound of the Tools: Even though it is not painful, when children hear the sound of the drill, they can instantly feel frightened.
3. The Appearance: Between the look of the office, and the fact that the dental professionals are wearing masks, to a child, a dental office can feel too sterile.
4. The Fear of Pain: With the expectation of feeling pain from the procedures, some children have high anxiety going to the dentist.
5. Fear of Being Away From Their Parents: Sometimes the child cannot see mom and dad for different parts of the appointment. The aspect of being separated from their parents can be terrifying to a child.
????????
How Can You Help Your Child?
— Bring your child to the dentist office early in their life.
— Treat the appointment as “no big deal” kind of event,.
— Positively explain in a general way what will happen during the visit prior to the appointment.
