Springville Dentistry is proud to support National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM). The purpose of NCDHM is to raise awareness about the importance of oral health in children and the role that parents, caregivers, and health professionals can play in promoting healthy teeth and gums.
As part of NCDHM Springville Dentistry is happy to offer our patients information and suggestions to assist them in creating good oral health habits in their children.
At age 3, preschoolers can graduate to brushing their own teeth using a “pea-sized” drop of fluoride toothpaste to begin to develop a good brushing habit.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry suggests letting preschoolers brush their teeth on their own and then recommends parents follow-up by performing a more thorough cleaning.
