WHY SHOULD I FLOSS MY TEETH?
The tooth has 5 surfaces. For most people, brushing does a pretty good job at cleaning three of the areas, but two of the surfaces (where the teeth touch) cannot be sufficiently cleaned by your toothbrush.
The untouched surfaces are very close to the sides of other teeth, making it easy for food to get trapped in between. When food gets stuck in these gaps, it creates a breeding ground for bacteria to build up, creating plaque.
This is where floss comes to the rescue. Floss is called an “interdental cleaning tool;” it can get into these tight spaces and remove 80% of plaque your toothbrush can’t quite reach.
Floss is more important than you might think!
